The year was 1991. A young, up-and-coming designer and student began doing freelance projects for the Printing Services department at Utah Valley Community College. In a short amount of time, the growing amount of freelance work made it necessary for a name and identity be created for the new enterprise. In a fit of design geekiness, the name Serpentine Designs was settled on, based on the font Serpentine that was being used for the textual parts of the logo.

1992 was a year of experimentation and changes. Tim began working in the television studio at UVCC and started dabbling in designing and programming for the up-and-coming technology of the World Wide Web. Web design and progrmaming would become a major focus of Astral Graphics. Tim would end up being the designer and consultant for the original UVSC website and started doing video editing and production for clients.

1993 brought along new areas for the company. As Astral began to venture into the world of video editing and production and upon finding another company with a similar name, the name was changed to SkyFall Productions to better encompass the changing direction of the work. Also in 1993, our first domain name was purchased, skyfall.com, further pushing into development for Internet-related clients.

As design world evolved into an increasingly Internet-related world, the name of the company evolved with it. As the services that SkyFall provided expanded, the name was changed to reflect the expansion from graphic design and web design to video editing and production. The word "Communications" encompassed the variety of media production arenas that the company now covered.

SkyFall Communications has changed over the years and in efforts to manage the various aspects of the company, several divisions have been created under one umbrella, everything from photography services to Internet hosting. Skyfall Communications became the overall umbrella brand and the creative design and media production portion of the business was spun-off as Skyfall Creative in 2010. Today, Skyfall Creative is still just as dedicated to being the best creative destination for clients as we were when we first began and it's still our aim to provide every client with the best creative that we can provide.
